Nestled in Costa Rica’s lush Diamante Valley, Finca Shambhala is an off-grid regenerative farm and healing sanctuary surrounded by jungle, rivers and waterfalls.
What began as completely raw land with no electricity, water or shelter has slowly grown into a thriving farm and a place for people to reconnect with nature, learn practical skills and explore a more conscious way of living.
Our Regenerative Farm Residency is an opportunity to live on the farm, contribute to its development, and immerse yourself in nature and regenerative living.
For $400 USD per month, residents receive accommodation, food, internet, and access to the shared spaces and experiences of the farm while contributing approximately 25 hours per week to hands-on farm and community projects.
In return, you get much more than a place to stay. You get the opportunity to slow down, learn from the land, develop practical skills, connect with a community, and experience the transformative nature of living closely with the jungle.
Life on the farm
The Finca Shambhala Regenerative Farm Residency is for people who are curious, adaptable, kind, community-minded and ready to get their hands dirty.
No previous farming or permaculture experience is required, just an open mind, a willingness to learn, and a genuine desire to participate.
Through hands-on experience, you’ll learn about permaculture, farming, homesteading, regenerative living and caring for the land, while contributing to the continued development of Finca Shambhala.
Residents can get involved in:

Compost, soil & regenerative farming
Maintenance & creative DIY projects
Art, music & creative projects
Photography, video & content creation
Cooking & shared household tasks
More than a farm
Shambhala is also becoming a space for healing, learning and personal growth.
Depending on what is happening during your stay, you may have opportunities to experience yoga, meditation, breathwork, plant-based traditions and other holistic practices.

The Land
The farm borders the beautiful Diamante River, where you can cool off after a day of work. The spectacular Diamante waterfall is around a 30-minute hike away.
In your free time, you can swim, explore the jungle, hike, practice yoga or simply relax in nature.
Uvita and Dominical are approximately 40 minutes away, with surfing, retreats, ceremonies and other activities nearby.

Most importantly, we're looking for people who are reliable, curious, respectful and willing to work.
This is a peaceful, conscious environment rather than a party space. We ask residents to respect the land, keep waste to a minimum, avoid smoking cigarettes on the farm, and keep alcohol consumption moderate.
Regenerative Farm Residency Fee
Join us for an immersive experience of hands-on farm work, regenerative living, and community life. Residents pay a fee and contribute 5 hours a day, 5 days a week as part of their transformative experience at Finca Shambhala.
