Nestled in Costa Rica’s lush Diamante Valley, Finca Shambhala is an off-grid regenerative farm and healing sanctuary surrounded by jungle, rivers and waterfalls.
What began as completely raw land with no electricity, water or shelter has slowly grown into a thriving farm and a place for people to reconnect with nature, learn practical skills and explore a more conscious way of living.
We’re looking for passionate, kind and motivated people who want to get their hands dirty and become part of our growing vision.
Life on the farm
The Finca Shambhala Volunteer Program is for people who are curious, adaptable, community-minded, and ready to learn through hands-on experience. No previous farming or permaculture experience is required, just an open mind and a willingness to participate.You’ll learn practical farming, homesteading and sustainable living skills while contributing to the development of the farm.
Volunteers can get involved in:
Permaculture, gardening & planting
Animal care, including cows & chickens
Nursery care & tropical fruit trees
Compost, soil & regenerative farming
Maintenance & creative DIY projects
Art, music & creative projects
Photography, video & content creation
Cooking & shared household tasks
More than a farm
Shambhala is also becoming a space for healing, learning and personal growth.
Depending on what is happening during your stay, you may have opportunities to experience yoga, meditation, breathwork, plant-based traditions and other holistic practices.
Our community is centered around kindness, connection, conscious living and respect for nature.

The Land
The farm borders the beautiful Diamante River, where you can cool off after a day of work. The spectacular Diamante waterfall is around a 30-minute hike away.
In your free time, you can swim, explore the jungle, hike, practice yoga or simply relax in nature.
Uvita and Dominical are approximately 40 minutes away, with surfing, retreats, ceremonies and other activities nearby.

Most importantly, we're looking for people who are reliable, curious, respectful and willing to work.
This is a peaceful, conscious environment rather than a party space. We ask volunteers to respect the land, keep waste to a minimum, avoid smoking cigarettes on the farm, and keep alcohol consumption moderate.
Volunteer Program Fee
Join us for an immersive experience of hands-on farm work, regenerative living, and community life. Volunteers pay a program fee and contribute 5 hours a day, 5 days a week as part of their transformative experience at Finca Shambhala.
